Default Blindfold

Not sure if this subject has been touched before... but, how about making the blindfold dye-able? Purple doesn't really match with everyone's armour, and I honestly don't feel like redying my armour. It shouldn't even be that hard to fix really... ;X

I've always found it stupid you can dye all the eotn items except for the blindfold. =/

ANet has a long and proud history of finding ways to keep players from over using equipment seen on prominent NPCs.

They did keep Shiro's daggers at q15 for the longest time after all.

Personally I think that limitation has some merit. As soon as it becomes dyeable, every paragon and their mother will be dying theirs white for that Kormir look.

q15? Surely you mean q13.

And, nah, not into the whole blindfold thing. Way too kinky for my liking. Plus, this person above me has a point with the Kormir-thing.

No he means q15, that's what they used to be before it was changed. And yeah I think the Kormir look would be overdone, but is that any more wrong than black dye on Monk Obby or Derv Primeval?

Sheesh, there seems to be a lot of things I have forgotten over the years... for the hell of me, I cannot remember Shiro's ever being q15, but checking it on wiki, I guess I am mistaken.
My bad.

The blindfold can not be dyed. Linsey has stated that any object that passes through a character's hair can not be dyed.

However, I do think it should be available in more colors.

If it's undyeable due to the restriction mentioned above, then I'd agree that they should just make more colors. We wouldn't be able to use unique dye combinations, but it'd allow us to have more control on matching the blindfold with existing armor sets.

Agreed. I think it should at least come in a more...neutral color than the awkward purple/grey it is now. Maybe black or white. Or like someone else suggested, have a selection of colors for us to choose from.

Hardly anything matches it. I would love to get it on a few of my characters except for the fact that it looks like #*%@&!

If you could change it from purple, then it wouldn't look like Neo's blindfold from the third matrix...

That goes under the hair model not through it.

Purple blind fold is a reference to the one Neo wore in the Matrix. Just use texmod if you really want to change it.

every para would go for the kormir look if they allowed it to dye, plus there is an issue i belive that means it can never be dyed anyway, due to it clipping/going through hair

That's because their crappy dye system.
Item textures are not dyed, then applied to the models, then the scene rendered.
Instead of that, they render the scene, and they color over the scene as if it was a page in one of those 'color by numbers' books.
That why if you zoom out many items look so aliased and the base colors show up at the borders of the item.

It seems the only solution here would be to make different copies of the item with each one of the basic unmixed dye colors: Black, white, red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple, brown, gray and silver.

Neo's Blindfold was purple?
I aways remembered it as a raw piece of dirty khaki piece of cloth.
